Gigabit x2 plan - Motorola MB8611 Docsis 3.1

Hi all,

I have the Gigabit x2 plan, yet when I bring up my account, it states I have download speeds up to 1.3 gbps. I have a Motorola MB8611 modem. Is this modem capping my speed? The modem is supposed to be able to handle speeds up to 2.5 gbps. I am wondering if this modem is not allowing me to reach the full potential of my plan. Thanks

Thank you for reaching out to our team here. Is that modem on the https://www.xfinity.com/support/internet/customerowned list that is compatible with the next generation speeds?

Hi John,

Thanks reaching out, it looks to be on the compatible list but I don't see it listed under next generation speeds.

Thank you for checking on that for us, that may be part of the issue. I can check on the provisioning on your current modem from our side, or see if there are options to use our modem to guarantee those speeds if you can send me a direct message with the full name and complete address for your service.
