Gift card

I have gotten several emails about a gift card redemption. I felt off about it so contacted the live chat agent (LCA) I was told it was a scam email and was told I’d be getting a physical one in the mail. Never received it. Contacted LCA again and also got another email and they said the email again was a scam and I had no such reward coming. Asked to speak to a higher up and was told they’d contact me within 1 business day. 2 days go by and nothing so again I reach out to LCA and again get told it’s a scam I have no reward but she helped someone call me. This man said I had no reward but told him I was told by a direct LCA I would be getting a physical one. He then gave me my ticket number and a number for card services. Fast forward . I called card services and they said I had the reward and sent me the same email with the gift card that all the others were telling me was a scam. Called customer service and they said the card service number was not directed with Xfinity however the original number that had called me was directly with Xfinity. She also told me the email was a scam so I ask to be directed to a supervisor because at this point I’m being told all sorts of things. Supervisor said I had the reward and the card service number was correct and the email wasn’t a scam however they do not have the authority to send me a physical card after I explained my frustration on the whole oredeal . How the heck am I suppose to trust anyone here if you’re all telling me different things! Now I’m still questioning if the number is directly with the company if this gift card is a real thing, if this email I keep receiving is a scam!?

Hello, user_i32a8s, and thank you for choosing Xfinity! We truly appreciate your feedback and are grateful to have you as part of the Xfinity Forums community. It’s completely understandable that receiving suspicious emails would raise concerns. Good on you for trusting your instincts and reaching out. Your safety is incredibly important to us, and we’ve invested heavily in protecting your account and personal information.

As a reminder; if you ever receive a communication whether it’s an email, text, or phone call that seems questionable or asks for sensitive information like payment details, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly at 1-800-Xfinity (1-800-934-6489) to verify its legitimacy. Unfortunately, bad actors do attempt to impersonate Xfinity representatives or mimic our websites. Here are a few tips to help you spot potential scams:

  • Watch for deceptive emails and calls. Scammers often use similar-looking phone numbers or email addresses to trick you into sharing personal information.
  • Check for spelling errors or low-quality images. These are common signs of fraudulent messages.
  • Always verify the sender’s email address. If it looks unfamiliar or suspicious, it’s best not to trust it.
  • Avoid clicking on links or downloading attachments from unsolicited messages. These could contain harmful software designed to steal your data.

Additionally, if you're tracking an incentive, you can check its status approximately one week after activating all required services online here.
