gateway overheating
Hi there,
My gateway has been overheating severely and the fan is getting very noisy. I've had the internet cut out a few times due to this already, which is obviously bothersome. Is there anyway to have it swapped out? There is no Xfinity store in town where I live otherwise I would have gone there.
Thank you!

This is a known, and all too common problem. You should call the xfinity support number; you will have to speak with a representative to have a replacement shipped to you. Alternatively, you could buy your own hardware. That way you would not be paying the monthly rental fee, and you will complete control over your home network (something you do not have with their leased equipment).

@user_049115 - Oh no! Thank you for your feedback and letting us know about your gateway overheating. As a quick reminder you'll want to be sure to avoid putting your gateway in cramped spaces or next to anything that can block the WiFi signal. The best position is in an open space away from thick surfaces. Yes, we can help ship a replacement! Could you please send our team a message with your full name and full address? We can definitely take a further look at this issue.
