FTP Port Forwarding

Hi, I have an ftp server running on my computer, I have given it a random port number and I am able to connect to it on my home network as I would expect. I tried then to port forward this FTP server via the xfinity app and the whole setup of port forwarding (please don't recommend me the link that refers to the steps on port forwarding), I entered the specific port (not a range) of my ftp and also chose the device the FTP was on. I chose TCP only and that's all the options it gave me I think. But it didn't work when I went to another house and tried it on a different Wifi, is there a step I did wrong? Or something else? (Also I do have a static IP on my computer so that shouldnt be an issue i think)

Good afternoon @user_i9rp0a, and thank you for reaching out on our Community Forums with your port forwarding concerns. I have included the following article that explains how to set up port forwarding for your home network. https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/port-forwarding-xfinity-wireless-gateway. Please let us know if this helps.

Thank you for confirming that you are not getting any errors on the app and for the screenshots, we really appreciate it @user_i9rp0a. To confirm, did you set a static IP for the device using the Gateway Admin page (10.0.0.1). If so, the static IP should be removed, the Xfinity app will use the IP address from DHCP to set a static MAC bind and establish the port forward rule.

Can you also confirm that the device is using an IPv4 address to connect to the network and not an IPv6 address?

When I go into wifi settings, my "IP assignment" and "DNS server assignment" is automatic, I went in control panel and checked my IPV4 and its set to automatic as well. Is this right?

I'm sorry to hear that article didn't help @user_i9rp0a. To confirm, are you receiving any error messages when attempting to create a port forward in the Xfinity app?

Perfect, thank you for confirming that @user_i9rp0a. We may need to open a ticket with your repair team to investigate your porting issues further.
