Free IPAD scam

@Xfinity Support  I upgraded to XfI a couple weeks ago, been having longtime issue with dead spots in the house and trying to get the free PODs for basement and living room,  Allegedly I am getting one, only 1 but a battle for another day.    My 14 day assessment was up and I reached out thru Xfinity chat on the site, it had me approve in app so legit xfinity support.    I let them know I was following up on the assesment and had several screen captures of weak and fair WiFi signal and wanted the pods.    after chatting, he said one time he'd send me the PODs but asked that I wait on the chat while he placed that and we had a lot of idle chit chat,  tried to ask about mobile for a sale...  Then said with my package I get a free ipad 10th gen.  Did I want them to order it,  i said they previous agent mentioned nothing about that.   He said it was part of my package did I want to order, initialy I said yes as Ive gotten give aways with packages.  then i googled and saw all the scams.  

Is this real or not given it was your customer support within your network offering up the free ipad???   Did he order my WiFi POD(s)?   They kept me on the chat for an hour to process an order of pod(s).   I also have a download of the transcript.

Good evening,

1.  I switched packages 11/30

and there was no mention of an iPad.   Today I reached out about continued WiFi and 45ins into ordering me a single

pod.  They mentioned it.  Is it real?  Can I get a free ipad? Is that part of the package?   I saw scam all

over the internet wit Xfinity and iPads so I told him now. 

2 can you tell

if he ordered my pod?


in also do not have mobile he asked and I said no my company covers my

mobile.  Then proceeded

We can look into your package details to see if there is an iPad included @user_05e38a, and if there is a xFi pod order on the account. To get started, can you please send us a Direct Message with your first and last name along with the service address on the account?

To send a "Direct Message" ("Private") message:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

  • Click the "Direct Message chat" icon
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
