Free iPad is not free

I was told that I was receiving a free iPad but when I went to activate I see that I am actually making payments on it and it is not free. I do not want a mobile line with xfinity I only wanted to negotiate my new plan cost. Feeling extremely deceived and I would like to return the iPad and I no longer want service with Xfinity if you cannot give me my old rate and fix this.

Xfinity has some very [Edit: Inflammatory] people working for them!!  I had the same thing happen to me a few days ago.  Was texting with an Xfinity representative and was trying to get a better price on my tv and Wi-Fi costs.  He said that if I did the same package I would get a free iPad, sure why not.  Then after completing all the forms, one which ask for a social security number, which was odd, I get an email that IPad was going to cost me $10 a month and the 5G for iPad was going to be another $20.  At least customer service over the phone got this straightened out and iPad is being sent back!! Xfinity needs to really check into this [Edit: Inflammatory], it seems to have happened to plenty of customers!!
