Formal dispute — equipment on order [Edited: "Personal Information"]delivered 14 days before the scheduled date, never received, now being billed to me
[Edited: "Personal Information"]
I am formally disputing an equipment charge on my account and requesting written resolution.
THE TWO DATES
My order confirmation states, verbatim:
ORDER PLACED 08/10/2026 TO DELIVER ON 08/25/2026
Internet Installation Options STANDARD_SHIPPING
The delivery date Comcast committed to was August 25, 2026.
The package was actually delivered on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 — fourteen days before the committed date, and one day after I placed the order.
I was at work. I had scheduled delivery for August 25 specifically because that was a date I could be present. I received no notice that the shipment had been accelerated. No signature or adult acceptance was required or obtained, and the package was left unattended at [location — e.g. the building entryway]. When I returned home it was gone. I never took possession of the device at any point.
I am now being charged for this device as unreturned or unrecovered equipment.
PLEASE PULL FROM YOUR RECORDS AND PROVIDE
1. The carrier and tracking number for the equipment shipped under confirmation [Edited: "Personal Information"].
2. The date and time of the carrier's delivery scan.
3. The carrier's delivery photo, if one exists.
4. The serial number / MAC address of the device assigned to my account.
Your own system will show the 08/11/2026 delivery scan against the 08/25/2026 delivery date on my confirmation.
WHY I AM NOT LIABLE
Comcast set the delivery date, then shipped fourteen days ahead of it without notice to me, and required no signature. I was given no opportunity to receive or secure the package. I cannot return equipment I never possessed, and I should not be billed an unreturned-equipment fee for it.
Comcast is the shipper of record on this shipment. Any loss-in-transit claim with the carrier has to be filed by Comcast, not by me.
WHAT I AM REQUESTING
1. Remove the device from my account and reverse all unreturned or unrecovered equipment charges associated with it, including any recurring monthly fee already billed.
2. File the carrier loss claim as shipper of record and provide me the claim number.
3. Confirm in writing that the charges are reversed and that no balance related to this device remains.
4. Confirm this account will not be referred to collections while the dispute is open.
5. Assign a case number and provide it to me.
SEPARATE — $60 CHARGE
I was charged $60 in connection with this order. My confirmation shows Internet Installation Options at $0.00, so please identify what the $60 is: whether Comcast assessed it, the exact line-item name, and which statement it appears on. If it was assessed by Citizen Home Solutions rather than Comcast, confirm that so I can pursue it with them directly.
I am submitting this in writing within the dispute window stated on my bill. If it is not resolved, I will file with the FCC Consumer Complaint Center and with the Massachusetts Department of Telecommunications and Cable, the local franchise authority for my service address.
