Formal Complaint Regarding Property Damage Caused by Xfinity Contractors – Immediate Resolution Required

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Property Damage Caused by Xfinity Contractors – Immediate Resolution Required

To Xfinity Corporate and the Property Damage Claims Department,

I am contacting you regarding significant damage to my property caused by contractors performing underground cable work on behalf of Xfinity. I expect this matter to be taken seriously and resolved promptly, with all necessary repairs completed at no cost to me.

Approximately six months ago, AT&T damaged Xfinity’s existing cable while installing its fiber network in my neighborhood. As a result, a long orange cable was left running across my front yard as a temporary solution for approximately six months. Xfinity’s contractors eventually came out to bore a new underground line to service several houses. However, after completing the work, they left my property in unacceptable condition, and the damage has not been repaired.

My front yard was left with excessive amounts of dirt, and the contractors damaged the ground and killed sections of my grass. They left without properly cleaning up or restoring the affected areas. In addition, they brought a massive piece of machinery onto my driveway and operated it well beyond the 10-foot right-of-way/easement area. This equipment left a hole in my driveway. I am now left with damage to both my lawn and driveway because of work performed by Xfinity’s contractors.

After dealing with a temporary cable running across my yard for six months, I should not be left with a damaged lawn, piles of dirt, and a hole in my driveway once the work is finally completed. The contractors were responsible for the work they performed and should have left my property in its original condition. Leaving the property in this state without making the necessary repairs is unacceptable.

I have photographs and video footage documenting the condition of my yard, the damage to my driveway, and the equipment used by the contractors. I also have a photograph of the contractor’s truck to help identify the company responsible. This evidence is available to support my claim.

I expect Xfinity to arrange an on-site inspection, coordinate the complete restoration of my front yard, remove the excess dirt, properly repair and level the affected ground, and replace the grass that was killed. I also expect Xfinity to cover the full cost of properly repairing the hole and any related damage to my driveway. These repairs must restore my property to a condition comparable to what it was in before the contractors performed their work. A superficial cleanup, a small amount of grass seed, or a temporary patch over the driveway damage will not be an acceptable resolution if the underlying damage remains.

I will not pay out of pocket to repair damage caused during work performed on behalf of Xfinity, nor should I have to spend my time chasing down contractors to get my property restored. Xfinity needs to coordinate with the responsible contractor and ensure that the necessary repairs are completed professionally and promptly.

Please escalate this complaint to the appropriate property damage claims department and provide me with a formal claim number, the name and direct contact information of the person handling the matter, and a written timeline for the inspection and completion of repairs. I expect a concrete plan of action, not a generic response or a referral that leaves me responsible for resolving this myself.

If this matter is not addressed promptly, I will escalate the complaint through the appropriate corporate and consumer complaint channels.

The damage is documented, and I have evidence to support my claim. I expect Xfinity to take responsibility for resolving this matter, arrange and pay for the necessary repairs, and ensure my yard and driveway are properly restored. This issue will remain unresolved until the damage has been fully addressed.

Please respond in writing with the next steps and a timeline for resolution.
