For 8 months i've been trying to get my "free" Peacock premium subscription

On 10/1/2024 my Xfinity bill says I get Peacock FREE until 8/17/2025

So I followed the instruction on the Xfinity activate-peacock website and here is

what happened …

I followed Xfinity’s instructions …

1) Went to the Xfinity activate-peacock website. I logged in as (my primary email address) .

2) Xfinity says … “your peacock account is already active”

3) I clicked on the “continue to Peacock” button.

4) I signed into peacock as (my primary Xfinity email address) (Its an existing Peacock account)

5) I entered my peacock password to get into my existing Peacock account.

6 ) My Peacock (my primary email address) account says … get premium for $7.99/month

7) I clicked “maybe later”

8) Got “Who's watching”

9 ) Clicked on my (Peacock screen name) icon

10 ) Got the main video list and 90% of the videos are locked out.

11) SO … Peacock says “i’m NOT a “Premium member” They want $7.99 per month.

I then went to this Xfinity Community forum website (about 10/3/2024) and asked for help.

The Xfinity support did everything they could do, But it didn’t solve the problem

I then called Xfinity customer support on my telephone and they tried everything but still it

didn’t work.

I was told it was Peacock’s problem I should call them.

Peacock only has a chat support on the Peacock site.

So on 10/5/2024 I chatted with Peacock for 20 minutes.

They could NOT activate my "free" Premium account so they said they would email me back

in a few days to give Peacock time to fix the problem.

A few days later Peacock said it was Xfinity’s problem in an email message.

=================

So it now 8 months later and I get an email from Xfinity and

the email says that Xfinity is going to EXTEND my FREE Peacock

subscription for another year.

(Lucky me)

So today 6/26/2025 I repeat the steps at the beginning of the email ..

and I do the same 11 steps listed in the beginning of this email.

I get the same result … Xfinity says already activated and Peacock says

subscribe to Peacock for only $7.99 a month.

I signed out of the Peacock website and signed in to make sure it resets

but I’m still a Peacock basic user (NOT a Premium user).

=== I also checked my “Xfinity streaming subscriptions” And it says …

Peacock Premium is included in my services.

========================

What do I do next …

Thanks …

After 4 days with no answers or help from Xfinity on this forum, I was able to get help from the Peacock website.

I tried to fix this problem with the Xfinity twice since 10/3/2024. Both times the problem wan't solved.

It took 8 emails to Peacock by me, to convince them to redeem 2 years service that i lost because Xfinity couldn't fix the problem that Xfinity caused.

You can now close this open customer care case

I just tried to activate my "free" Peacock from Xfinity.  After considerable hassle, switching between Xfinity app and my TV, I had to talk to a Peacock rep who told me there would be a $69 "activation" fee.  I asked why, b/c Xfinity gave me it "free" for 2 years.  I was told that it was a one-time fee and that I would never have to pay anything else, and never a monthly fee.  I was skeptical, but went ahead.  And then, the $69 becomes $79.99.  Apparently it is some kind of state (Florida) b.s. that I didn't really understand after several tries at asking why.   I then said I didn't want the subscription, but was talked into it by the "never pay anything again."  I bit the bullet, and was able to access Peacock.  However, I was not told that it has advertisements every 15 minutes or so.  False advertising?  Is it Xfinity or Peacock?  I don't know how to unravel this. 😒
