file complaint
It's ridiculous that I need to resort to sending a message here when I just want to email corporate (if someone can please provide me with an email address to do this, that would be helpful). A few weeks ago, I contacted xfinity bc my bill (for the same services that I've always had) went up by $20/ month and I wanted to bring it back down. After over an hour of getting through the AI and to a human who then had me on hold for a while and then transferred me to the retention/ disconnect dept, I learned that some offers would be coming available in a few weeks and that person told me to call back then. I asked if I could call retention directly and he said no and to call this week. So I put it on my calendar and called the regular customer service number and went through the AI and to a person who tried to sell me on 'promotions' that would actually cost me more than I'm currently paying, so I asked if I could please be connected to the retention dept as they'd told me to call back this week. He said that he couldn't transfer me, but gave me the number to call. I called that number and got the message that there was a long hold time and would I like a call back, so I opted for that. When I got the call back the person told me they didn't understand why I thought I'd called retention; they were with technical support. I said that the first agent had told me to call their number. Eventually, they transferred me to retention/ disconnect and I repeated my whole long story and the person there was emphatic that she understood and that she promised that this would be my last call to resolve this and that she was going to help me. She asked if I could be on hold for 4-5 mins and to please not disconnect. I explained that every time I've been disconnected w xfinity over the six years that I've been a customer it's bc xfinity disconnects me. I asked if she had my number to call me back if this happened. She said yes and to please hold while she worked on this. I was then on hold for over 30 mins (she would check in periodically) while she continued 'to work on this.' Then, and I hadn't touched my phone or chosen any other options, the hold music/ sound changed and it was messages repeating in Spanish. And then a few mins later someone came on the line speaking in Spanish and very confused, asking who I was and telling me (then in English when I requested this since I don't speak Spanish well) that he'd been mid-conversation with someone and then suddenly it was me. He asked me what I was calling about and I told him that someone was helping me in retention and he said he knew nothing about that, so I hung up, assuming that the person who'd said she'd call me back would do so. She never did. I want corporate to read this. And to look at the hours I spend a few weeks ago and today and to remedy this. It's TERRIBLE. Felt like Alice in Wonderland. Truly unbelievable.
