I was recently sold a line of goods by an xfinity rep and his girlfirend. We had centurylink and we had decent service. but they promised much better service thoughout our entire home. they said if we needed an extender it would be provided. Well I have been figthting with the sales reps, the AI assistant and then the chat person, No help. We don't get adequate service in the lower level and now they say I need to purchase an extender at my cost. So now I am paying more for xfinity and I am getting poorer srvice than I had with centurylink. Is my ony option to remove the xfinity service from our home and go back to centurylink? Over promised and underdelivered from xfinity.

I see that you mentioned being told a WiFi extender would be provided if needed, but you're now receiving conflicting information. I can certainly understand how that would be frustrating, and I'm happy to help clarify the current policy.
At this time, the only way to receive a WiFi extender, also known as an xFi Pod (WiFi Boost Pod), at no additional cost is by subscribing to Xfinity Pro and completing a network assessment through the Xfinity App. Based on the results of that assessment, eligible customers may qualify to receive an xFi Pod if coverage issues are identified. You can find more information here: https://www.xfinity.com/learn/internet-service/xpro.
To help us better understand your situation, can you please confirm whether you currently subscribe to Xfinity Pro?We appreciate the opportunity to assist and look forward to helping get this clarified for you.
