Feedback on new promotions

after getting text that my bill was going up 50% if I did not call Xfinity TODAY, I called & was told my current promotion was expiring and if I wanted to save 50 % on current bill I needed to pick 1 of only 2 possible promotions Xfinity currently has. THESE PROTECTIONS REQUIRE ME TO LEAVE MY HOME WITHIN 4 HOURS AND BUY 4 target gift cards - AND  TARGET AND KROGER - for $300 each - but will need to go to TARGET AND KROGER SINCE YOU CAN ONLY BUY 2 GIFT CARDS AT ONCE - and MUST SAY "THESE ARE FOR MY GRANDKIDS OR NIECES/NEPHEWS" IN ORDER TO SAVE A $10 FEE FOR EACH CARD (OR I COULD TRY TO SAY " OH SHOOT I JUST REALIZED I NEED 2 MORE!!" TO GET PAST THE LIMIT OF 2 AT ONE STORE.  ALSO IF I CAN GO IN NEXT 2 HOURS AFTER THIS SALES CALL I WILL GET A $100 GIFT CARDS FROM TARGET.ALL OF THIS TO REDUCE BILL TO $50 PER MONTH AND GET AN APPLE WATCH AND GET MY $87 BILL FOR MONTH CLEARED.

Thank you for meeting us here in our community, @user_tt1vis, about your bill. I want to let you know that we don't offer discounts of 50% off. We normally offer new packages and promotions. We would never ask you to go to a store to purchase gift cards in order to earn a discount. This phone call was from a scammer, and we would urge you to hang up if they call again. Please do not purchase any gift cards or share your personal information with them. Please visit our page: https://spa.xfinity.com/help/network-abuse?faq=report-online-harassment for more information and a way for you to report it.

Now, you have reached Official Xfinity employees, and we'd love the opportunity to see if we may help with your bill. If you'll allow us, we can review your account now. We would ask for you to send us a Direct Message with your full name and service address. Once you send that privately, we would send over an authentication code by text or email. Then we can discuss your account.

To start a Direct Message: Click "Sign in" if necessary

• Click the "Direct Message" icon (upper right corner of this page)

• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list

• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

• Press Enter to send your message.

I hope you didn't fall for this scam. Such calls, texts, and emails are usually from scammers, especially if you are asked to pay in advance, by gift card, or with crypto. See https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/customer-service/target-gift-card-scam-beware-they-are-good/6785304bec3cb6282636396d for a description of what happens if you fall for one of these.
