Faster upload speeds at no additional cost are just a step away

Hi, I got an e-mail that

"Faster upload speeds at no additional cost are just a
step away".

Good news

Because you're a valued xFi Complete customer, we're happy to announce you can now enjoy up to 5-10x faster upload speeds and smoother connections with your current Xfinity Internet package, at no additional cost to you.

With this new benefit you can video chat more smoothly, game online with less interruption, upload larger files, and so much more. This is just one example of how our next-generation Xfinity 10G Network is evolving to get smarter, faster, and more reliable.

I am currently on a 1000Mbps/100Mbps and get 800-900 Mbps/70-80Mbps.

I've chat with support to request a new modem or upgrade my service plan to get the free 5-10X upload speeds. I do not need anyone coming into my house, because there's not a need for it. I can self service and just require them to update my plan or send the new gateway.

Instead, chat said, they have limited support or I'm I asking to update the service plan. Can someone help? It shouldn't be difficult, because I can switch to AT&T fiber and get 1Gbps for less for download/upload. You promise I can get free 5X-10X upload, but no one knows how to help.

Hello @G372008. We are thrilled that you are in our next gen speed area! The 10g network is amazing and offers the best internet speeds for our customers. To get a new modem, you can simply visit your local Xfinity store at any time and swap your old modem for a new one. Also, if you are on Wi-Fi, those speeds are not guaranteed, since there are a number of factors that could contribute to the lower speeds. We recommend to our customers to connect their computer via Ethernet, where those speeds are guaranteed.

I'm confused, because the e-mail said, I don't have to do anything. I get free 5-10X upload upgrade. Are you not reading your own promotion or e-mail? If my current xFi modem can support Download of 1Gbps, I'm sure it can support an update of 5-10X for upload. You need to update the plan, check my Xfi modem to see it can handle it. I'm am not talking about any WiFi. I'm am talking about the LAN connection from the xFi Gateway to my PC.

If you are a current Gigabit customer @G372008, your modem can automatically handle those speeds. Simply try an easy troubleshooting step and unplug the modem and plug it back in. This will download any updates or firmware that may have been stuck. Once the modem boots back up, simply test your speeds.
