False Xfi Compete Advertisement Received in Email

I'm a current customer with Comcast/Xfinity for the past 27 years.  I received email advertisement stating I can get 'Unlimited Data with Xfi Complete' for only $11.00 a month.  I already got Xfi complete - paying $25.00 a month.  I called customer service and was told that it would still be $25.00 not $11.00.  This is due to the fact that $14.00 for Gateway modem fee.

I reviewed the information on the email I received and one sentence stated "Advertised price includes Xfinity Gateway monthly lease fee" - which to me would means that the $14.00 should be included in the promotion.  The customer service, who was very helpful told me that it's has to do with "playing on words" and that I'm not paying for the modem fee with the $25.00 - yet the rental cost for the modem is $14.00.  I asked to speak with a supervisor, who came on the phone and basically told me the same thing and could not help me further except for me to take the email information and go the Xfinity store and talk with a person at the store.  I told them that with past experience, store personnel never did help me much and always tell me to call Xfinity support.

I had few experiences with Comcast/Xfinity that causes me anxiety & high blood pressure and this issue has just caused it once again.  As a very long time customer, I feel that this type of advertisement should not be sent to customer when statement on email will not hold true.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to actual Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Update:  I've been emailing back & forth with personnel from the "Office of Tom Karinshak" and didn't any solutions result.  Below is the content of last email I received from them which also included my interpretation of what their ad means to me:

Thank you for your recent response.

I apologize if the way the advertisement was worded was not clear. I will ensure that your feedback regarding this matter is forwarded to our leadership team.

Do you have any other questions or concerns I may be able to assist you with today?

 Sincerely,

 Office of Tom Karinshak

As I see & read, it stated:

“Want unlimited data? Get xFi Complete – Have more peace of mind doing everything you love only for only $11.00 more a month (see attachment)”.  This to me, meaning I can get unlimited data by getting xFi Complete for $11.00 more a month.

“Limited to xFi Complete.  Advertise price includes Xfinity Gateway monthly lease fee”.  This to me, meaning that the Gateway modem fee (which you stated $14.00) is included in the advertised price – which is $11.00 a month. This is what stated words-for-words in your advertisement.

Sorry for any confusion, what we are saying is if you lease a modem for $14 a month, to upgrade to xFi complete, it is only $11 more a month.

I no longer work for Comcast.
