False info on pricing for phone and internet, plus false advertising about senior citizen plan

Since my 2 year contract was expiring, I spoke with a rep about a week ago, as to what plans were available, before I started to shop around.  I am a senior citizen and do not game - usage is minimal, and phone is paid off.  He eventually quoted me a price of $50.00 for both internet and phone service.  At least 3x’s I asked if this was for both services…his reply was yes.  I agreed and he said I would be receiving confirmation.  Never did, only received survey which I filled out.

Yesterday, I saw on my account,  that I was being charged $93.90 just for the internet!

i called and spoke with rep who was very nice, told her about conversation with male rep, and was told that there was no transcript.  I was told also, that there were no senior citizen plans available for me.  I told her there’s been advertisements and if this is true, it’s false advertising.

My bill has been readjusted to $65.90, for internet.  I am paying $40.00 for phone.
I am upset about how I was told one price for both, ($50.00), plus the false advertising of senior plans.  I had been quite satisfied with the service, that I’d been receiving , but am very upset about the deceptive practices.

I’m still not sure what my next steps will be.

Thank you,

Diane
