Fake calls from Comcast

Another phone call from <Edited: Personal Information>, Comcast displays on caller id. Noisy, call center, Indian gentleman stating he is with Comcast asking me to give him router info bc my wi-fi security is compromised.  I asked him again if he was with Comcast he says Comcast Securities, I hung up on him.

I called the # back and it is Xfinity. Apparently, they are using an app to make spoof calls. Wanted to put this out there so people know NOT to give any info out if they call you!

@krissyk34 We appreciate you reaching out to us here on our Xfinity Forums. Just to clarify, you stated you called the number back and it was Xfinity?

Yes, the automated system that recognizes your ph# and says your name. They must be using a fake call app

I also just received the same call that my mobile shows as from XFINITY (800) 266-2778 which is why I answered it -- Indian gentleman in a very noisy call center claiming to be from Comcast Internet Security, not Comcast Support, and saying that they detected issues with my firewall/modem. Very suspicious. When I asked how could I confirm that this was a legit call from Xfinity, he said he could provide my account number. He didn't and I didn't ask him to. But then he asked me to go over to my modem and when I asked why my being near the modem was necessary, the call abruptly ended.

Just received that same call from the same xfinity number. Same Indian gentleman in a noisy call center. Mentioned something about my modem issuing security messages to xfinity and asked me to get close to my modem, at which point I hung up..

Xfinity has a responsibility to find this call center and report it to law enforcement.  They are harassing Xfinity customers by requesting password reset codes constantly if you hang up on them.  Obviously there has been a data breach releasing our records to these bastards.  If there has been a data breach, Xfinity HAS A RESPONSIBILITY to report it to customers.  Xfinity customers are being harassed by an Indian call center because of an OBVIOUS XFINITY DATA BREACH.

I was really surprised when I called the # back, and it was Xfinity, the automated system, that recognizes your ph# and says your name.

This happened to me and they asked me to install software so they could see into my computer.

Another phone call from supposedly Xfinity, Xfinity displays on caller id. Noisy, call center, Indian gentleman stating he is with Comcast asking me to give him router info bc my wi-fi security is compromised. He said he was security and showed me how to install viewing software on my personal PC. He even gave me a confirmation code they he was xfinity. They are using an app to make spoof calls. When I asked him to call back he started attacking my PC and I shut it down.

I got a call 11/1/2024, same thing. Accented man said he was from Comcast and my "modem firewall is not working" and asked me to go to the modem. I was busy so asked if I could call him back. He left a number [Edited: "Invalid Phone Number"] and said to ask for the "Security Department". He said his name was Mark at [Edited: "Invalid Phone Number"].  I then googled Comcast scams, got this information, and never called him back.
