Exposed Cable Lines
Hi
we have two different cable lines above ground that need to be buried. One is our individual line and the other is the neighborhood bigger line. It’s been a few weeks now and nothing has been done. A cable employee came out last week on Wednesday August 9 and told my husband that a different crew and bigger equipment would be needed to come out to do this and that he was going to escalate the ticket. Yesterday my husband called and apparently that ticket was closed indicating it was completed. Nope, it still isn’t. We recently had a pool installed and cannot move forward with having concrete poured around it until these lines are buried. Please help! Thanks.

Hi @user_11762d ! You mentioned there are 2 lines, typically the main line will need additional work and is done with a specialized crew, but the one for your home should be underway. Can you tell me if the utility locates have been marked yet?
Those would be either temporary colored paint or colored flags that indicate where each underground utility is mapped at to potentially avoid damages while digging. Most line burials would also have an email sent to the primary email address that outlines the steps in the process and where teams are as we progress. There are quite a few things that go into a line burial and there's typically at least a 14 business day working time frame, but I do say typically as there are always chances for delays along the road. Permits may need to be obtained, to get those a mapping and approval of where the line will be buried is often a process that we are waiting on as that is a step that we submit information for, but it's sent to an external party who ultimately completes it, then grants our permits.

Hi
there are no temporary flags or lines marked on the ground. The pool has already been installed and the lines were marked ahead of time. The excavation team ran into the exposed line when digging on August 1st. Xfinity crew came out that day to temporarily patch a line for the neighbors in the meantime while the excavation crew could continue to finish their work. They said another team would have to come out later to bury these lines after our pool was done. Basically the main line wasn’t buried deep enough when our house was built and wasn’t close to the easement as it should have been. We cannot continue with our outdoor project and have concrete poured until these lines are buried. The last Xfinity employee that came out had stated the problem was resolved according to the rep that my husband spoke to yesterday. I just want to make that something is in the works now since we have no guidance or timeline on anything and need to get this done as soon as possible because this swimming pool is a gift to our special needs daughter from Make A Wish! Thank you for escalating this!
