Exposed broken wire in trench

There is an exposed wire in a trench in our yard. We have a small disabled child and want it fixed asap. We were told by the Xfinity assistant to wait 5 days. The company that hit the wire is filling the hole back up tomorrow. In five days you will have to get blue stakes back out and redid the hole and find the broken wire. It makes no sense but I can’t talk to a real person. The app just keeps giving us the run around.
