Escalation required — exposed replacement cable and missed burial appointment before Minnesota winter
I need assistance from an Xfinity employee who can take ownership of an unresolved underground cable burial request.
After our house was rebuilt, it took over a year to get our Xfinity internet cable installed. The cable was eventually buried, but a neighbor's construction project severed it. Xfinity subsequently installed a replacement cable, which is still lying above ground.
I spoke with an Xfinity representative who assured me that a service call had been scheduled to bury the replacement cable. No one showed up, and the cable remains exposed.
I am concerned that if this is not resolved promptly, the ground will freeze and the work will be postponed until spring. Given the lengthy history of this installation and the previous missed appointment, I cannot rely on another verbal assurance that someone will come out.
I am requesting that Xfinity:
-
Locate and verify the existing drop-bury work order, or submit the correct request if none exists.
-
Confirm the current status, including whether utility marking, permitting, or contractor assignment is outstanding.
-
Escalate the work to the appropriate underground construction team given the approaching winter deadline.
-
Provide written confirmation of the work-order number, its status, and the next concrete step toward completing the burial.
This is not a request for routine internet troubleshooting or another standard technician visit. The replacement cable needs to be buried.
Please have an employee who can access the underground-work process follow this through to completion. Thank you.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.
