erroneous multiple accounts
On June 9, 2026 I tried to upgrade my internet speed though the Xfinity website by logging into my account. The system made it seem easy and I just hit the upgrade button and went through the process of upgrading to faster internet. When I checked my email later, I discovered Xfinity had set up a new account in my name to bill me for two internet plans at one address. They were charging for the new and the old service on two accounts in my name. I called the call center and was told by the employee she had to make a third account but would then cancel the other two. The next day I discovered that I was still getting double billed now on the account she created, and the one I setup online, but the address on the account she created was my former address of over four years ago where I already went through the shutoff process with Xfinity. Both accounts listed the same gig internet plan and “pending activation”. When I used the Xfinity app to activate service at my current address with my own equipment, both accounts activated at the same time for both addresses, but the other account is listed as having an Xfinity router. I called the call center again, and the only option they would offer me is to stop service on the extra account, which I think they did, but I still have two accounts and two listed current addresses, and the one at my old address lists me as still having the Xfinity router, which I'm afraid I'll be charged for in the future. I also got a disconnection of service notice today in my email for my current address with no listed last day of service, so I'm not sure what that is about, unless it means canceling my original account, but I certainly don't want my service shut off at my current address.
