Enhanced Upload Speeds (Central MD - Mount Airy)

Hello,

How long until enhanced upload speeds are available in central MD? Multiple text chat and voice support techs I corresponded with said they were already available; so, in response I installed a new Arris S34.  After installing, I hear a different story that it must not be enabled, yet, which is why I'm not seeing the enhanced upload speed.  Please enable a.s.a.p.  Central MD (Mt. Airy located between D.C., Baltimore, Frederick).

AJSurfs While the upgrade might be in progress for your area, your specific location might not be capable for various reasons. Network equipment upgrades can be impacted by a lot of different specifics, unfortunately, there is no way to provide the specific reason, but I would be happy to check on a current definitive for the upgraded speeds. In my previous post, I provided you with steps on how to send a direct message, and if you would like to research this further we would be happy to help.

AJSurfs Thank you again for the direct message. Happy that we were able to make some headway on the status, and options for your home. Once you are notified that the next generation upgrades are complete, you can easily reach back, and it would be our pleasure to get things in motion.

I am wondering what the response to this question was.  I live in the same area and I have the same cable modem since my old one was failing.  @XfinityThomasB any insite to when the Mount Airy, MD area will be getting the faster upload speeds?

Essentially, they stated it may not be ready yet for a particular location (Mount Airy, MD) and all the dots need to align before the higher upload speeds are activated and realized (you may also need an upgraded modem if you don't already have one capable of the enhanced upload speeds - you can find the list of compatible items online via Xfinity).  But they also commented that when it is ready, it is likely to require me upgrading from my 600/700 down speeds to a gigabit tier download to also allow for the higher upload speeds.  Though, I have gotten mixed messages on that last bit. So, it's not ready, yet, and when it is, it may or may not require a gigabit tier download speed to get the enhanced upload, too.  Already got a new Arris S34 modem in the meantime to ensure compatible when they're ready.
