Email not working right: Let me sign the new Terms of Service/Privacy Policy

I have posted here about regularly getting spam/fraudulent emails talking about closing my account.  Last week I got this, but all ability to respond is turned off, and my email is not working correctly at all. I need this fixed a.s.a.p. please. Tell me how to sign your form.

@user_wjsck7 Thanks for sharing the email you received via Forums. Have you by any chance contacted our Customer Security Assurance team to help you look into these spam emails? If not, you can contact them by visiting this link https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/report-abuse. They will definitely be able to help you with this.

... update your Xfinity account ... what's next for our consumers ... you will no longer be able to access your account ...

The message is phishing/fraud. "Click here or else" is a scammer classic. Comcast/Xfinity does not ask us to "update" our accounts, and they don't refer to their customers as "consumers". If the "Dear ???" salutation was to your email address rather than your name, that's another red flag.

If you are using a Comcast.net email address, check your email with Comcast/Xfinity's Connect webmail (https://connect.xfinity.com/) and look for the XFINITY Verified Email logo next to any message that claims to be from Comcast/Xfinity. Note that anyone can insert an XFINITY Verified image in the body of an email, so it's important to note not only the presence of that image, but that it is in the correct locations:

  • proceeding the email subject line in the list of emails
  • above the subject line when the email is opened.

See https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/comcast-verified-email for examples of valid logo placement. A logo in the body of the email does not count.

If the logo is missing when you view the message in webmail, the message is not from Comcast. Unfortunately, AFAIK the logo is not present in email sent to a non-Comcast,net address, or when you view one of their messages in an email app or program. It's only visible when you view their web email site in a browser.
