Email Account

Regarding Xfiniity's FAQ on the the Yahoo email offer, Xfinity asked this question and then deliberately didn't provide a direct answer:

Do I have to upgrade my comcast.net email account to Yahoo Mail?
This is an upgrade we are offering customers at no cost so they can access their email on a better platform with enhanced security, more features, and a mobile app for easy access on the go.

This obfuscation is shameful.  What is the answer to the question, Is the change required?

GME1 they are making this as hard as possible.  You can't call them anymore, you have to try to work through their useless AI chat bot.  And you can't remove any of your email accounts.  I am migrating to fastmail before they force us onto yahoo and low and behold, the option to remove user accounts (email accounts) no longer works.  It is like they are trying to force everyone onto yahoo (which other posts about this said they plan to do by late 2026) just so that yahoo's horrible security record makes sure that all our emails can be compromised.  My advice - delete every email in your comcast accounts and move to another external and actually secure email provider like fastmail before it is too late.

My big concern is that even after deleted, all those emails are still there with Xfinity because there have been several times when all of a sudden, I would get hundreds of old emails that I deleted years ago into my inbox.  It is shameful that they are pushing everyone to yahoo and making it sound like it is an upgrade.
