[Edited] state representative
I've contacted my state representative along with the FTC for another complaint about not allowing consumers to port their numbers and allowing them to unlock their phones. This poses a serious safety risk especially for victims of domestic violence who oftentimes need to switch carriers but need their same phone number for safety reasons and want to have their own bill. Otherwise they're abusers can get a copy of their bill and see who their contacting find out they're whereabouts. It is unbelievably unsafe and scary that Xfinity plays these games with customers. Especially when under federal law they are allowed to port their numbers.

Thank you for connecting with us here in our community, @user_3b04f8. I'm not sure what the details of your concerns are with porting and unlocking your mobile phone. Xfinity Mobile does allow the unlocking of phones once they are paid off in full, as well as porting their numbers. As part of the Safe Connections Act, our customers are allowed to separate their phone line. Here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/account-management/safe-connections is the link for the request that can be found online. If you would like to provide more details via a Direct Message, we can assist there privately.
