Drop Bury Depth Concern

Greetings.  We were very impressed with the Xfinity tech who was dispatched yesterday to run new coax from the pedestal in the back corner of the yard.  Since there was no NID, he installed one and ran the coax over to a jack so the Xfinity gateway could be activated inside the house.  Upon closer examination outside, it appears that the new coax might not have enough excess length for it to be buried deep enough without pulling it and the plastic covering away from the house.  If it were buried that way, there would be a problem cutting the grass and risk cutting the cable.  My question is, would the dig crew splice more coax, if necessary, so the cable would go straight in the ground vs. on an angle over the grass?  Thank you for your attention to this matter.

@user_e775df, Thank you for reaching out through Xfinity Community Forums. A lot of times they will put a temporary line down so that you can get service quickly. Then the crew that comes out to take care of the drop bury, will replace it. If you would like us to take a closer look at this, please send us a DM with your name and full address by doing the following:

• Click "Sign In" if necessary

• Click the "Direct Message” icon (upper right corner of this page)

• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
