Downed lines outside no longer attached to home.

On 8/9, our cable line was ripped off our house by a fallen tree. Our electric service was promptly restored the next morning, and I began calling Comcast on Tuesday, 8/10.

Comcast scheduled a repair appointment for 8/11 between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. Comcast did not show up for the repair, nor did they provide a text message or phone call. After spending an hour trying to get ahold of someone, I was told that the appointment had been canceled shortly after it was made. No one had notified me of the cancellation.

I was then given another appointment for 8/14 between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. I was advised to replace my router and cable box inside the house before Friday’s appointment, which I promptly did on Thursday morning.

On Friday, 8/14, when 4:00 p.m. came and no one had arrived, I contacted Comcast again. After finally reaching a representative, I was told that the technician was running late but would be at my home by 5:00 p.m. Comcast never showed up. I later learned that my appointment had been canceled because the technician assigned to the appointment was not able to perform the outside repair that Comcast had scheduled.

After spending another hour on the phone, I was told that the soonest Comcast could come to my home was 8/19. And with no other correspondence I now see in the app that my new date for repair is 8/20.

I did not provide Comcast with incorrect or incomplete information. From my very first call, I clearly explained that a fallen tree had ripped both the electric and cable lines from my home. The electric company repaired and restored our service promptly. Comcast was fully aware that the cable line had been physically ripped from the house and that an outside repair was required.
I’ve been met with unhelpful runaround. I’ve taken my complaint to the board nj board of utilities. I would like this fixed Ina timely manner but am constantly read to from a script.
