Does Xfinity track the location of my modem?
I recently moved my Xfinity service to a new location about 1.3 miles away from my initial home but before I did that, I tested the modem at the new place first just to see if the equipment works which it did then I scheduled to have service officially start today, 12/21/22. All works great however I'm not sure if this is related but I got pinged on my iPhone that an Apple AirTag is associated with my location. I followed the instructions to locate the tag to make the device make a sound but heard nothing and it doesn't appear to be on my car. The iPhone "Find My" app states it plays a sound when I'm inside my new place when I'm closest to the modem but doesn't detect a tag when I walk away from it. Can you verify if the AirTag is associated with the Xfinity modem I'm using? A friend of mine stated that his cousin in another state experienced the same issue and thought someone was tracking her for nefarious reasons but discovered it was becomes she moved her modem several times to a different building across town.

The concern is not "Xfinity Home Security / Devices And Equipment" help related. Thread moved here to the proper help section, and for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Thank you for reaching out to our Xfinity Forums, @user_905f35. Since everything has been installed, have you attempted to power off your modem and reboot it to see if anything changes? I ask this as we do not place tracking devices like what you have described, within or on our equipment. I would reach apple for support, or maybe contact them here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212227.

@XfinityKimberlyB : Thanks for responding. I had exhausted all means of determining the source of the AirTag including following Apple's support on locating it to no avail so the modem transfer to my new home was the only different thing I could think of as a possibility in case modems need to be registered by street address of where service is being delivered and if it moved to a different location, *maybe* your systems were detecting that move. A relative found a Reddit conversation about others experiencing the same issue and it was suggested to turn Bluetooth off and on again as it may be giving false readings about an AirTag following a person. I've done that a few days ago and have not had an issue since so hopefully that resolved the issue.
