Does Xfinity Hire Sub-Contractors to Bury the Cable Lines?

We had some work done on the outside cable last year.  The cable was buried quite quickly after the work had been completed.  Over the past several months, however, there have been three instances where 1-2 males have knocked on the door inquiring about the line to be buried.  They are not in uniform nor driving a vehicle with any sort of company logo on them, Xfinity or otherwise.  Is this normal?

Thank you, @user_875464 for reaching out to us today over our Community Forums!

Often times we do use contractors in certain areas to bury our cable lines. It will often depend on local code, and the equipment that may be needed to complete the job. There is normally a 14 day scheduling period from when the new line is installed, to when a date is selected for it to be buried. We definitely expect our contractors to properly identify themselves, and you have every right to ask for identification! If you are ever in doubt of anyone approaching your home, of feel unsafe we recommend contacting the local authorities.
