Do I need to pay early termination fee if I upgrade my internet plan?

Also, will the new plan contract time start from the new date or from the old contract's start date?

Hello there! We're happy to answer your questions. You are only charged an Early Termination Fee if you are on a term agreement and cancel all services completely. There is no fee to change your plan at any time. Your new plan would start from the day that you approve the new plan (or the date that you specify) and has nothing to do with your previous plan's dates.

You can view your agreements in the handy Xfinity My Account app or online at  My Account  then Settings, Legal Agreements and Contracts.

I just upgraded to an unlimited data plan for home internet. I was charged a $105 termination fee without being told. I'm trying to resolve right now with customer service...
