Disney+ App & 4k on a AX013ANM box

I think I'm getting the run around.   This is from the xfinity.com site.

Is Disney+ in 4K?
4K content is available if you use the Disney+ app on X1 and have an Xi6 TV Box, or on Flex with an Xi6 streaming TV Box (along with a compatible 4K or 4K/HDR TV).

Note: 4K Content on the Disney+ app on X1 is not available on XG1v4 X1 TV Boxes.

I have an XG1v4 box.  Went onto the support site where an agent arranged for me to return the TV box for an actualy 4k box.

Went to Xfinity store where they gave me model AX013ANM box.  I told them that the website says you need a Xi6, but they said that is a secondary box.  So they gave me the AX013ANM.  And they assured me that it would support 4k.

I got it setup and doublecheck that my TV will accept UHD signals, but when I run Disney+ on the new box, the TV still only says its in 1080p.   When I go into the AX013ANM box's "settings", there's a section where you select the signals output resolution and the maximum resolution it says is 1080p.

So what's going on??  What TV box actually supports 4k signals???

Hi there @pschlimgen. I sorry to hear about the issues you're having getting our 4K box. At this time, our 4k Xi6 boxes are the only boxes capable of 4K on Disney+. They are a secondary box and would require you to have a main box like your XG1v4 to operate. We're always looking to improve our products and services. Your feedback here will help us towards achieving that goal.

So basically, I have to pay for 2 boxes if I want 4k content.. Even though I have only 1 TV??

Only for Disney+ and HBO Max. 4k content is still available for OnDemand and Select Live TV Events. Also on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu and YouTube on the XG1v4.

I no longer work for Comcast.

Well, now the store forced the AX013ANM box on me.. does that mean I have to switch it BACK to the XG1v4???

Yes, I'm sorry. The AX013ANM is an HD DVR box without 4K capabilities.

I no longer work for Comcast.

Turns out that the Xi6 box is a secondary box to the X1 router.  Not to another TV box.

I went back to the local Xfinity store which got me messed up.  They wouldn’t listen to me and sent me to the “official” Xfinity store.  Finally got a hold of someone who knew what was what.  The other store Is a “third-party” store and are constantly sending frustrated customers to the official store.

They gave me the Xi6 box and told me that it connects to the X1 router.

had some issues getting it setup. A technician came out the next day and made sure everything was good.  Turns out that my Visio TV would not display the Xi6’s boot up configuration/ settings. (Just a bunch of snow).   The tech had a small tv for testing. Once the Xi6 was setup, after that it worked with the Visio.

Oh wow I am sorry you had such a frustrating experience, that is never what we want for our customers! Just to make sure we are on the same page, everything is resolved now, is that correct?
