Discounts

Why does Xfinity require us to go auto pay in order to get any type of discounts.  I have had issues previously that was impossible to stop the auto pay process without cancelling my credit card.   I want the discount but don't want to be blackmailed into going to auto pay and then not aware of payment issues or other issues that may arise with auto pay.  I might have to see about a different provider for less amount that does not require auto pay in order to take advantage of savings plans.  Not to mention they keep wanting to throw in their mobile service as well as a bundle option.

Howdy user_c0xghq - I understand everything you are mentioning and can totally relate. Just to share some insight, I've worked for Xfinity/Comcast for a while, and I've seen where customers have lost their autopay discounts, occurred bill forwards and disconnections in the past from multiple failed attempts due to card number changes, expiring cards, etc. Autopay helps you avoid late fees, billing confusion and adds an extra perk like many other companies offer now. You should not be experiencing difficulties removing automatic payments as we provide tons of self-serve options that our customers can take advantage of. I wouldn't want you to feel blackmailed, it is just a secured benefit with perks to take advantage of and totally optional.  We will keep offering our mobile service as Xfinity Mobile offers several advantages, including access to the Verizon network, flexible data options, and the ability to save money by combining mobile and home internet services. Our customers can also leverage millions of Xfinity WiFi hotspots. Our goal is to help our customers save and to share light on where you can reduce overspending.
