Disappointment Over Loss of NFL Network & RedZone — Considering Leaving Xfinity

I’ve been a loyal customer of for years, largely because of access to NFL Network and RedZone. Losing those channels is extremely disappointing and makes me question the value of staying.

This is a big part of why I’ve continued paying for your service, and without it, I’m seriously considering exploring other providers that offer what I actually watch. Xfinity should be doing more to keep their customers happy, especially when it comes to key channels like these.

I’m undecided whether to wait and see if this gets resolved, but it may be time for me to move on.

Thanks for reaching out about NFL programming. The agreement to carry NFL Network expired, so it’s no longer available with Xfinity. This includes NFL RedZone and any related Xfinity Stream and On Demand programming.

Please know Comcast pays programmers to bring you the entertainment you love, and, so far, Disney/ESPN has not proposed a deal that Comcast believes is fair for its customers. Comcast continues to work toward bringing back this programming, but only with fair pricing, terms, and conditions for its customers.

[Edited: "Inflammatory/Language"] How about as a customer pushing almost 400 a month you do what is fair for me. Instead you cut and cut and say pricing isnt fair for you as you take and take 4k a year from me.

I agree 100%.   I’m heading to Fios if they can’t figure this thing out soon.   NFL Net and RedZobe are the two primary reasons I even have Xfinity.  Without them, I will most certainly be taking my business elsewhere.

I agree.  We are paying a lot for xfinity services and the NFL Network is one of the parts of the package I want.  May have to move to a carrier that has this service

The sports package is why I have cable NFL NETWORK and RedZone is the biggest reason. I'm tired of us the paying customers getting caught in the middle of billionaires fussing over billions. Just remember, The SUBSCRIBERS, Customers are the reason y'all are billionaires.  Congress doesn't hold the purse. WE DO! FIGURE IT OUT

I am getting sick and tired of paying 350 a month for service where they just delete and delete and delete service and provide nothing but their own [Edited: "Inflammatory"] worthless stations. [Edited: "Inflammatory"]

After seeing everyone else's comments, it looks like I'll be leaving over to AT&T Uverse or Direct TV or YouTube. Seems Xfinity doesn't care about us long time loyal customers. All they do is blame NFL Network and don't take accountability in trying to keep their customers!

So you would rather Comcast take whatever deal the NFL Network is offering, no matter what the cost may be passed on to customers?  If Comcast/Xfinity didn't care about customers regardless of length of time they've been customers do you think they would just idly sit by and say, "okay, we'll go ahead and take this deal you're offering even though it's quite a bit higher than we'd like.  The customers won't mind pay far more because of it."  Comcast doesn't want to pay any more than you do because they know when they pass along that increase in bill a lot of customers will complain and even leave trying to find yet another bill.  Do you think that all ISP's and Direct TV and Yahoo TV don't go through this?  After a while, their rates have to go up as well.  The NFL makes billions of $$$ not just in ticket sales, but in cable contracts, too.  And believe me, it really won't hurt them a lot should an ISP say, "sorry, we aren't making that kind of deal, goodbye".  Complain to the NFL Network; Comcast is doing all it can to hold your bill down.

Hey, but don't listen to me; I know nothing, Mildred [made up name].

This is getting ridiculous with Xfinity not showing NFL Network, and paying the premium sports package! I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years! Not showing NFL Network will make me leave

Comcast/Xfinity - please advise what the price reduction will be since you discontinued this channel ? Since you no longer are paying these apparently huge fees for the privilege of NFL, there should be a huge reduction in monthly fees to your loyal customers.

What a disappointment that each comment receives a canned response that is basically a huge middle finger. This wasn’t about money initially - it was about paying for what is agreed upon and what we choose as a customer. In the negotiations it was made public that the offer to extend access to the channels in question was made available to Comcast, however, Comcast declined to accept maintaining the channel during the negotiations ( I assume for leverage). Given this negotiating choice, you have now put existing customers in a position to make a choice for Cable, WiFi, Phone, etc. Acquiring new customers is expensive and it has been noted by a Comcast rep that it offers special deals for new customers but not those already established.

Now, this is about money. I am paying for an agreed upon service that I am no longer receiving. Isn’t charging for something not delivered effectively theft ? Even if this gets resolved, Comcast has a huge PR problem. I would love to complain to a real person, but the AI Phone Response and the Foreign Customer service center won’t understand…BTW that’s another huge problem with Comcast.

I agree.  I have been a Comcast XFinity client since the early 2000s.  My premium account included the More Sports and Ent package, which was included exclusively for the NFL and NFL Redzone channels.

After losing the NFL and NFL Redzone, I am considering moving to another network provider that has a current contract with the NFL.

Editorial Note:

My career included over 30+ years in Software, Systems, and Networks Engineering for Petroleum Companies, Mining Companies, Airline Reservations Systems (six worldwide res systems), Banks (five major bank institutions), Credit Card Companies (all of them), and many consultancy positions with other service organizations.

For ALL of those corporations, "Break In Service" was not allowed.  Any service interruption was considered a direct and negative reflection of the corporate name and reliability.  In all instances, and and  all future contracts were renegotiated and completed BEFORE the current contract expired.  In effect, there was NEVER a sanctioned "Break In Service" to the client population.

I wonder WHY any media corporation would allow this scenario to occur.  The reliability and corporate name of Comcast XFinity is questionable, to say the least.  Not a reference or situation that would be tolerated by most of the major corporate environments.

Comcast XFInity needs to review and reconsider their current business practices.
