Deplorable business practice: AI voice assistant lies and tries to convince you its hunan

The original voice assistant tells you it’s AI before transferring you to a “human” which is actually another AI pretending to be a human. It spends a ton of time trying to convince you it’s a human and blames its thinly veiled robotic cadence on “our call quality”: Mine was named Yaruj or something made to sound foreign and spent 10 minutes trying to convince me it’s a real human, telling me “Believe me, I am a capricorn.” Honestly had me fooled for a bit until you realize you can read out 15 digit alphanumerics super fast and ur will recite them perfectly within 2 seconds, something a human would be unable to do. It will also dutifully understand computer science questions with perfect accuracy (as this is one task the underlying models are trained on). Hilarious.

Thete are many other ways you can check if it’s a real human or not with high accuracy which i won’t disclose here.

my main problems are that  firstly this is insanely disrespectful corporate policy

towards customers and outright deceptive. the second is that the bot is broadly ineffective at its job.

I almost cancelled on the spot and may cancel still should my service issue go unresolved. For anyone else who use reading this, you are not crazy, Xfinity’s deplorable cost cutting AI will gaslight you to the ends of the earth, do not trust these people with anything.

Of course, Artificial Ignorance is an obsequious little twat.
