Deceptive Tactics – Read the Fine Print!

I am extremely frustrated with Xfinity’s sales tactics and would never recommend them. Their representative used misleading information just to lock us into a long-term contract.
The Issue:
  • The Bait: The salesperson heavily pushed a $200 gift card to get us to sign a 5-year agreement.
  • The Trap: The rep never mentioned that the gift card expires in just 6 months.
  • The Result: The card expired, and Xfinity completely refuses to honor it.
Yes, I should have read every line of the fine print. However, good companies don't intentionally hide critical expiration dates from customers. Omitting this information feels like a deliberate strategy to cheat people out of promised incentives.
Save yourself the headache. I will never refer a friend to a business that relies on sneaky tactics to trick customers.

Hi there @user_whh9ok Thank you so much for reaching out on our Xfinity Community Forum.  I can assure you that is not the experience we want for you as a valued Xfinity customer.  I'll be happy to assist.  Did the rep state there would be no expiration date associated with the gift card?

He never mentioned any expiration date about it. I just added to my Apple wallet and used it once at Arby’s. Then attempted to use it and declined in all these places. What’s irritating is I even emailed him directly for help and he sent me an email link to track the card. Seriously??  Why not at that point say oh that card was only 6 months. It has taken me 3 months to try and get some sort of grace and instead the last attempt the representative just said “sorry”. The issue is that I will have paid much more after 5 years of a lock in and I can’t get the remaining money to spend. I only spent $9.27. Whatever. I’m so over it all.
