Damage claim

A voltage surge originating from Xfinity equipment on the telephone pole, sent a strong electrical current down the cable into my house. This melted the cables and splitter box on my house, and ruined my personal modem. I’d like to be reimbursed for its replacement. Xfinity apparently didn’t have a surge suppressor to prevent this from happening. How to get reimbursed? How to get Xfinity to install a surge suppressor? The technician I spoke with didn’t know what a surge suppressor was.

Oh, goodness! So sorry to hear about this. I truly hope you were safe during this electrical event. Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? Our team can most definitely take a further look at this issue.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

-Click "Sign In" if necessary

-Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://comca.st/3EqVMu7

-Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

-The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it.

No one had gotten in touch about preventing this damage in the future, nor about the broken modem. A tech did come out and fix the melted cables and weatherproof box, though.

Did that technician come inside at all, or was all the work they did strictly outside?
