Customer Support Phone Number

I need the number to customer support so someone can explain to me why I'm not being notified when work is being done. This is the second time network has been worked on this week with ZERO communication made to my email or mobile.

Greetings, @user_l8fo0v! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your local network, but you have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

Generally speaking, the best way to receive updates and notifications for all network maintenance activity is through our amazing 'Xfinity' app. Do you have that app on your phone yet? Routine maintenance announcements are usually posted on your main login page a week in advance. It will also be the first place where any updates or changes will be posted for unexpected or unplanned maintenance work. You can have push notifications enabled through the app, or you can elect to receive updates through SMS or email, if you prefer. You can find more details about how to set these up here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfinity-xfi-notification-center

So what you're saying is I need to look at an app everyday to determine if something is happening? that seems extremely counter-intuitive to keeping your user base updated.

To your point, I do have the app, but no notification was brought up to me. I had to open the app to see that a problem was being worked on.

Why am I not messaged via mobile or email when issues plan to be worked on?

I'm sorry to hear you haven't been getting any notifications, @user_l8fo0v. We may need to take a closer look and see what's going on. If you could send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you.

To send a Direct Message, please click on the “Direct Message” icon in the top-right corner of the screen, next to the bell icon, click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon, then type or select "Xfinity Support". Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window and press Enter to send your message and initiate a live session.

Please send me the support number as requested. If direct messages are available, your team should be able to message me with the appropriate contact information as I requested.

@user_l8fo0v the customer service number is 1-800-XFINITY (800-934-6489) if you're looking to call in for customer service. We're available 7 days a week here at Xfinity Forums and Reddit for employee support between 6am - 1am ET for support as well.

Working from home myself, I completely understand needing your home network performing optimally. Like my great coworker mentioned, to receive notifications those do have to be turned on. To receive proactive maintenance/interruption notifications you can text Start to 266278 from a mobile device that can receive text notifications: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/proactive-outage-notifications

Please tell me you are joking? This number only bring me to the same automation that tells me to use the Xfinity application. This provides no help as it's the public facing number that doesn't lead anywhere. Also, Reddit for support? The place where the top threads in this subreddit are telling people to switch services away from Xfinity? If you want to go make the thread for me, I'll be more than happy to comment.

Give me a direct number to your support team so I can speak to someone about the problems I am experiencing with your product and how I am being updated about issues.
