Customer service scam?
I called customer service because I am moving and needed to cancel my service. The agent said I was under contract and needed to pay for February. I had already paid it. He said he needed my checking account and routing number which I thought was suspicious and I said I didn't feel comfortable giving out that information. I said I already had a card on file. He insisted that I give him my checking account number and routing number. He also wanted to cancel my service immediately, then on Friday, then on Wednesday. I kept insisting TUESDAY. He said he would send someone over to collect my gear on Wednesday after I had told him many times I was leaving on TUESDAY. He then changed my account login information. I told him I wasn't interested in dealing with him and I would go into an Xfinity store and hung up on him. I went into the store today and they handled it with ease. I didn't owe anything. I could drop off my equipment at UPS or at the store. No problem! Be careful when calling customer service. Just because it's a legit number doesn't necessarily mean a legitimate agent is going to take your call!
