Customer Service - Request Status Update / Escalation: Underground Line Installation for New Construction

Hello,

I need assistance checking the status of an underground cable line installation ticket for a new build and ensuring it is synchronized with an upcoming technician appointment.

Summary of events:

  • 9/30: Technician arrived for initial service activation, but found no signal on the fiber line installed during construction. A ticket was opened to run/bury a new cable line.

  • 10/5 – 10/7: Utility locates were requested and completed (811 marks completed on 10/7).

  • 10/14: I scheduled a technician activation appointment for 10/21.

  • 10/15: Received an automated update stating the underground cable team is scheduled to complete the line "within the next week."

My main concern is that the underground work may not be completed before the technician arrives on 10/21, which would result in another failed activation attempt.

Could an agent please review my account/construction ticket to confirm:

  1. The exact scheduled completion date for the underground construction team.

  2. Whether the 10/21 technician can be prepared to run a temporary line if the burial work is delayed.

Please let me know when I can direct message my account details and address. Thank you!

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

user_2c65k5 Thank you for reaching out for help with your new install and construction. I am glad to hear you have had all this set up already and are on the correct steps. Normally, we would hold off on setting up the 2nd install till after the construction work is completed. With the work orders, I can tell you that, with most requests, it can take 10 to 14 days from when the request was submitted before it is scheduled to be completed. This does allow for planning and permitting to be done. I would have to take a closer look at when that work order was submitted to provide a better time frame for you. We of course can reschedule your install accordingly if needed.

If you could send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you. Click "Sign In" (If necessary). Click the "Direct Messaging" Icon. Click the "Start New Conversation" (pencil and paper) icon. In the “To:” line, type "Xfinity Support". As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list. An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window. Press Enter to send it. How to: Direct Message Within The Forum.
