Customer service is terrible.
December 27th approximately 1:00pm our Internet service went down due to an ice storm (we didn't learn this until a full day later) and we tried to call them to report the service outage. We thought the text option would be simple and convenient but is was not.
After being introduced to someone they asked to unplug the router re plug it back in fairly basic tech stuff but in the middle of trying to troubleshoot the issue they have the audacity to try and sell us additional lines and services. Why would we want to pay you more money for additional products or services if you can't even get the one we have to work first?
When we explained that we were not interested in extra services they repeated whole tech questions of unplugging the router etc again. When we explained we did that all ready they disconnected the chat. So we tried again and when we pointed out that we had rude service from the first person they disconnected the chat a second time.
So we called and spoke to a real person who insisted that the outage was due to our modem or router going bad and needed a tech. So they setup a tech for 10am the next morning even though we asked them multiple times if it was outage due to the weather. They insisted there were no issues in our area.
Next day tech shows up and explains he can't do anything because it's an area outage due to damages to the network. We try the chat again. Same issues doscconects us as soon as we press for answer and ask questions outside of their script. Talked to a real person who again tried to insist that the issue wasn't with them that we would have to pay for a tech etc. finally we asked for a supervisor and they cleared it up except they told us we wouldn't have service until some random time on the 28th. Wasn't willing to compensate us for any of the service outage over these two days and couldn't provide us with any means to check on the outage.
It's still out and if it isn't restored the 28th we will immediately go someplace else.

Hello @user_89qdkh Unfortunately when it comes to the local service interruptions agents are fairly limited on the specifics of the repairs and what is causing the interruption. Our local techs work as fast as they can to get everyone restored but with more severe weather it may get delayed if there is any safety risk to our techs. We would be happy to check the current interruption for the most recent update for you but I may be similar to the one provided through the text notifications.
As for credits you can request credits through our Xfinity Assistant for any days the service is down following the steps found here:
https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/credit-xfinity-assistant
If you hit the max credits or are unable to request credits we can manually add those for you as well.
