Customer Retention Should Be Illegal

There should be a class action suit against these cable companies for these “Customer Retention” gimmicks. How can you not allow someone to downgrade their service to just internet? These packages that you offer are NOT deals and cost more than my electric and gas combined! I’ve been trying to downgrade for months, only to be told “there’s nothing available in your area.” What in the world does my location have to do with just getting internet? I live in New Jersey and the cost of living is high so you assume people can afford these ridiculous prices. When I found a link for downgrading, they made me sign in and then “Your account requires some special attention” call blah blah blah. Why? So you can feed me some [Edited: "Language"] story about why I can’t downgrade. I’d rather cancel and get internet service through a cellphone company than pay these ridiculous prices. Xfinity is worse than a mob shakedown! They even have #upgrade as a tag for these community posts but no option for #downgrade.

RUN!
