My HOA has decided that the new green fiber optic boxes that were placed on every third front yard is not attractive and have asked our landscaper to plant hedges around each of the boxes. Since our service works great since the new fiber optics was put into our neighborhood I am fearful that digging around these boxes could cause damage to the wiring as well as roots growing. Also if these shrubs are planted, Comcast will no longer have access to the boxes on the the 2 sides that have plugs for servicing.

Please help because they are ready to plant these shrubs.

Hello! @topcat399 Thank you for reaching out to us here on our Community Forum. We can definitely understand your concerns to make sure that the lines aren't disturbed or damaged. Can you please send us a Private Message with your full name and address? We may be able to have our team go out to mark the ground so that when they go out they know where not to dig.

BenjaminM,

Thank you for your quick response. I am not sure how to send a Private Message.

My community is Eagleton Estates in Palm Beach Gardens.

When I spoke to a comcast construction worker yesterday who was in the neighborhood he said that it would not be a good idea at all putting hedges around the boxes since they need access to the boxes. Why cause problems when everything works so good!!!!

we are in the process of buying a home that does not have internet, but the current owners are going to have it installed.  Xfinity services are in the area and there is a box at the end of the driveway, which is about 2 10ths of a mile from the house.  the owners have contacted xfinity and they do have a work order number and a price to run the line to the house, which they said they would pay.   how long does this process take and is there anyway that xfinity would not honor the work order and not run the cable to the house.

@cfr2112 Thank you for reaching out to the Digital Care Team. Those are great questions, but tough to answer. All that information would go to the homeowners who are having the work completed. We can not look up the information without them reaching out with permission. By experience, we would not honor the work if the job is not paid for, and it can take an undetermined amount of time based on what needs done.

I no longer work for Comcast.
