First. When these outages occur, are they being officially indicated with any info about them here ?;

Use a cell phone internet service, a public WiFi hotspot, or a neighbor's internet if you need to in order to check it.

Or you can use their Xfinity App: https://www.xfinity.com/apps

yes I receive text messages from Xfinity saying there are outages and when I try to chat on the xfinity app with an agent it says I am not allowed to chat with an agent during a outage. I haven't been able to chat with an agent for weeks.

Hello, @user_gqua2d thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums. Working from home myself and relying on my home network to be up and running, I definitely understand wanting to get a resolution. I'm glad our awesome Forum expert @EG was able to provide some links, and bring this to my attention.

There are 2 types of interruptions, planned work which you should be notified in advance if you have notifications set up: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/proactive-outage-notifications. Planned work typically involves network upgrades or routine network upkeep. Unplanned interruptions only have updates via the links provided by the expert, and can take some time to fully resolve the issue as it may take time to find the cause of the network impairments.

From experience, I know when they did the network enhancements in my area I received a letter in the mail as well going over the work and higher speeds would be available in my area once completed.

- Have you received any notifications regarding network enhancement/upgrade work?

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.
