Condo Board Forcing All Units to Switch Providers, Disconnecting Existing Service

Our condo is forcing all units to switch to another provider disconnecting existing coax wiring to comcast/xfinity to another provider that is internet only. All owners under contract with existing comcast/xfinity plans will be forced to pay early termination fees without a refund from the board. Any of us that paid for personal equipment or are in agreements for leased equipment are out that money as well. It also feels wrong removing a broadband connectivity option. Has this happened anywhere else before? What do early termination fees cost (min-max with & without equipment)? Is there any recourse to make the new provider add capability as needed instead of disconnecting & replacing services entirely? Without options prices will continue to go up and no one gets a refund just rubs me the wrong way.

I don't know but I would think that you could retain Comcast as your provider but you would probably be paying something more than what you're paying now.  As far as the early termination fees go, it's $10 per remaining months on your contract; that seems to me that you have a separate contract now, however you don't mention those details.

You would really need to ask your Board the questions you ask here because they most likely would have the answers.
