Complaint about lack of contact methods

I'm writing to lodge a complaint about my experience dealing with Xfinity today. I received a scam email that appeared to be to the email I had registered with Xfinity from alerting me to a password change that I did not request. Naturally I was concerned and quickly changed the account details and password and turned on 2 factor authentication ASAP.

However when I attempted to contact Xfinity, the maze of irrelevant nonsense and unhelpful automated customer support made it so difficult to get any kind of support that I USED THE SCAM EMAIL PHONE NUMBER! My complaint is in essence you make it so difficult to contact relevant support or even list legitimate contact information for your support services that IT DRIVES PEOPLE TO SCAMS. You already have a monopoly on internet services you could at least make your service not absolute garbage...

Voicing my complaint and suggesting ways to address this:

- List legitimate contact options to make sure people know what is a legitimate contact method or not.

- Make the easiest way to alert your company about issues not involve a community support forum!

Sincerely,

Concerned

Thank you for the reply. My concern is that on your 'Contact us' webpage for Xfinity, there is no clearly displayed information that gives the customer service contact information. Instead the webpage offers 'chat with Xfinity assistant', 'look at our support forms', 'text us questions'. None of these offer direct contact with those able to help. I do not want to be forced through a bot chat that I know is not capable of acting on the information I intended to bring to Xfinity's attention. When I needed to contact customer support as you suggested by phone, there is no readily displayed phone number. That I feel makes your product frustrating to be a customer for, where the methods to meaningfully engage with your service are withheld and obscured from your customers.

Good Morning, @user_w1xrj9 I definitely understand how frustrating it is not to have contact information, which we do appreciate the feedback. I have a great self-help article https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/phishing-scams that will go over the process on how you can get that scam email to our abuse team.-Richard

The easiest way to report these is to use the spam button in webmail.
