Comcast Tech Tap Install Issues/Lies

Have been told by several technicians that my house is serviceable, however, they need a tap to hook up too. Said it would take 8-10 days… it’s been over a month and a half. Now I am being told I am not serviceable although I am less than 200ft from the connection point. They tried ”quoting” an installation cost of over $5000… however, when I asked who I should talk to about the quote and possibly paying it they couldn’t get me anyone. Beyond frustrating because everyone in the area has Xfinity and there is zero reason I shouldn’t be serviceable. I’m located in Sevierville Tennessee, if anyone knows a contractor/technician in the area please let me know.

user_x70rhx Thank you so much for reaching out for help with getting Xfinity connected to your home. Getting a new home connected is a bit of a process, and we appreciate you reaching out for help. It sounds like, from what you have already been through, your location is serviceable, but due to the construction costs, you are being asked to contribute to complete the hookup. This is not uncommon, and depending on the cost, we do cover up to a certain amount. This also applies if you are looking to take advantage of speeds that require a network upgrade that isn't present already, like our Gig X10 speeds. You also have to keep in mind we may not be able to use a straight line to the nearest connection point due to other utilities and/or permissions and permitting. So 200Ft may end up being more.

As for you speaking with the construction team, they normally would only reach out if the cost was approved and you wanted to proceed with the next steps. Were you, by chance, provided an HS ticket?
