Comcast email move to Yahoo

I've been getting scam emails about comcast's email move. How will I know when it is an official email from xfinity?

user_nk5b9b The move to Yahoo is legitimate. We encourage you to go here (https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/yahoo-email-migration-overview), where you'll find out more about this transition and when to expect it to take place.

How will I know when it is an official email from xfinity?

  • The "From:" address will be "xfinity@updates.xfinity.com"
  • The email will be tagged as "Xfinity Verified Email" when viewed in "connect.xfinity.com"
  • The first legitimate message will have the Subject "Important update: Changes are coming for Comcast.net email accounts"

The email I got went on to say:

Exciting changes are coming for Comcast.net email accounts

Over the next several months, we’ll be moving Comcast.net email accounts from the Xfinity Email
platform to the Yahoo Mail platform to provide users with a better experience.

With AI-driven inbox management, advanced security, an effortless calendar, and a top-rated
mobile app, Yahoo Mail is a premium email solution designed to keep you organized and connected.
And the best part is you’ll keep your current Comcast.net email address, messages, folders, and
contacts when you make the move.

Below is a list of email account(s) that will be impacted:

    (email address[es])

What happens next

In about 30 days, you’ll receive another email that will prompt you to sign into
xfinityconnect.email.comcast.net to accept Yahoo’s terms of service and complete your move to the
Yahoo Mail platform. You’ll have 120 days to accept the terms. Your email address will not change –
you’ll keep your current email address on the Yahoo Mail platform.

If you don’t want to keep your email address and move your email account to Yahoo Mail, you can
export your data and close your email account. Visit https://export.xfinity.com to get started.

We understand how important email is, and we’re here to help make this an easy transition
for you. We'll email you again when it's time to sign the terms of service and move to Yahoo.
