Coax Outlet is in wall opposite the TV
Hi,
I'm moving soon and have set up to transfer my service, but I just learned that the coax outlet in the new apartment is across the room from where I want to place the TV. I want to understand my options for placing the TV where I want.
Here's what occurs to me, but I'm hoping someone can help respond to correct any mistakes or include options I've left out
1. Install coax outlet on the desired wall: I set up a service installation appointment hoping to do this (otherwise, I would self install). But can technicians install an outlet if it is already Xfinity wired and the existing coax outlet is in the same room? I've seen indications online that you only do this for outlets in the same wall as the existing outlet (which won't help me)
2. Wireless X1 boxes: These seem like a good option (don't require coax). However, I own my modem and I'm not interesting in renting one (unnecessary expense). Is it true that I am denied my choice of X1 box because I chose to purchase my equipment?
3. Run a coax cable across the room or around the room (neither seems like a good option: across the room is underfoot and around the room is likely dozens of feet of coax cable and passes over a doorway that has no doorframe).
4. Look for another service provider who won't force me to rent a device I don't need to get one I do.

Hi. I just saw your post and am in a similar situation. Would you mind sharing what you learned about options to gave a cable in a part of the room opposite where the coax outlet is located? Thanks!
