Coax installation in apartment building
My boyfriend and I recently moved into an apartment building and I bought an Xfinity plan the day before we moved into so we would have wifi right away, but when we arrived we realized that there is no outlet to plug the coax cable into. Will Xfinity send a technician out to install one, or do I need to contact someone else for that? The property manager has given me prior permission to have this done, but I cannot get in contact with anyone from Xfinity.

Greetings @cocosba11s! Thank you for taking the time to post on our Xfinity Community Forum!
Congrats on the move and bringing us with you! I can understand how frustrating it is to arrive and realize there isn’t a coax outlet available.
In apartment buildings, our technicians typically don’t install new wall outlets. If a coax outlet is needed, permission from the property owner or manager is required (which it sounds like you already have—thank you for confirming that 😀). Whether an outlet can be added also depends on whether there’s existing wiring available to connect to, which is reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis.
If new wiring is required inside your unit, you may need to work with the property management or a third‑party electrician to have an outlet installed.
