Clarifications about migration from Xfinity to Now Internet

I would have a couple questions about moving from an Xfinity term contract to Now Internet:

  • can the early termination fee be waived in this case? The contract I have does not mention this specific scenario, the closest ones is cancellation and reconnection to Xfinity services as a result of a move;
  • how far in the future I can plan the cancellation of Xfinity in anticipation of signing up to and configuring Now Internet? Just to know if I should account for days or weeks to make such move.

Good evening edymtt. How far into your contract are you? As far as the disconnection and set-up element, you would be able to do that close together. It would not require a large span of time. You just want to ensure you have secured your equipment then you could schedule the disconnect, and activate your NOW Internet.

Good evening @XfinityJon,

thanks for the quick reply.

How far into your contract are you?

I have less than two months left in my contract.

As far as the disconnection and set-up element, you would be able to do that close together. It would not require a large span of time. You just want to ensure you have secured your equipment then you could schedule the disconnect, and activate your NOW Internet.

From this explanation I understand that I can first order NOW Internet, and then schedule the disconnect of Xfinity -- is my understanding correct? The FAQ

and the buy guide seem to imply I should do the disconnection first (hence my question on how much time I am given to schedule such disconnection to avoid to remain without home internet).

@edymtt Sorry for any confusion. In summary, to switch from Xfinity residential internet to Xfinity NOW, you can initiate the disconnect process by scheduling it for a future date, which allows time to place your NOW order. Once your disconnect is scheduled, you can then order NOW.

You must first process your cancelation for your existing Xfinity internet service because you cannot have both at the same address.
