Changed plan and now no service - time sensitive due to medical recovery

I upgraded from legacy 1 gig plan to 2 gig plan On 7/24. My Arris SB8200 has worked flawlessly for 8 years and continued to work while I awaited an XB8.

  • XB8 arrived.  Multiple self serve and agent activation attempts have failed.  Asked to revert to the Arris.  Also won’t reactivate.
  • Was told a technician would come 7/25 at 10 AM, I cancelled plans to accommodate, but learned that no appointment was actually made.
  • Have no internet access and a wife recovering from surgery that absolutely must work virtual.

Having spent a day and a half seeking resolution, looking for input on how to best escalate to get this resolved quickly.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

I do understand why this could be a huge inconvenience. I will do all I can to have your service back active as soon as possible. To begin, would you mind sending me your name and the address to your account in a Direct message?

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it.

Eating some humble pie after having a better look at my coax cable.  The center wire inside the connector had recessed to the extent that it wasn't making contact with the modem.  Reseating (err... pushing with force) the wire back into the connector resulted in activation success.  Sharing in case others face similar issues.   Thanks to XfinityDuron for much patience.

AvgGeek I appreciate you keeping us posted with your findings. Does any wiring need to be replaced or is everything up and running smoothly?
